THE SITE OF YOURS TRULY
As you can see, this is the site you’re currently on. This site was done entirely with WordPress and a few 3rd party plugins. Using an extremely versatile theme called BigFeature, I gave the HTML and CSS an overhaul to get the site looking just the way I wanted it. There are three screenshots to the right: home, portfolio, and contact. This site is meant to mainly showcase my design work. It does contain a blog, however that is secondary to its function.
With that in mind, the homepage displays one featured project via the top banner, a blurb from the “about” page, and some of my recent snippets from Dribbble. Since this is a graphic heavy site, I broke up the two main graphical sections on the home page with the “about” text. That really helped balance out the page and give relief to the busyness of all the images.
For the portfolio page, I used a plugin called NextGEN Gallery. It is broken up into my main areas of design: print, identity, web banners, web UI and keynote presentation. I created the thumbnails for each section in Photoshop, uploaded them and linked each to individual project pages.
The Contact page is a 2-column layout with the left being a simple HTML form and the right displaying general contact information.
