BIRTHDAY INVITES

Project was under the direction of Generals International. A birthday party was arranged and hosted by the organization for its President, Cindy Jacobs. For this invitation, I started out with the “Celebrate Cindy” lettering using Aphrodite Slim. After that, I began laying out the important information on the front of the card keeping it typographically heavy, yet maintaining balanced to promote readability and retainability. Next, I started formatting the back. Rather than having the back match, I designed it to complement. In doing so, I kept the colors light and calming, using more of the tan than the red and making it “airy” with an even balance of space all around. The simplicity and lightness of the back really helped to balance out the busyness of the front.
